MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. expressed pride over Alex Eala’s historic win in Guadalajara 125 Open in Mexico.
The 20-year-old tennis ace recovered from a first set setback and outlasted Panna Udvardy of Hungary, 1-6, 7-5, 6-3 en route to capturing her first-ever Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) title.

Marcos lauds Alex Eala’s win in Guadalajara
“History has been written by Alex Eala as she becomes the first Filipino to win a WTA singles title," Marcos posted in his social media accounts.
Eala’s victory is the latest in her colorful career following her first round win in the US Open late last month, runner-up finish in the Eastbourne Open last June, and semifinal showing in the semifinals of the Miami Open in March, among others.
“Your success is a victory for the whole country. We will do everything so that more Filipino athletes follow in your footsteps and show the world the talent and heart of Filipinos,” the President said., This news data comes from:http://www.redcanaco.com
